The Unified Patent Court (UPC) will enter into force in June of 2023. That means that applicants and proprietors of European patent applications that have been granted European patents would need to determine their strategy for their European IP. If no action is taken, then the legal framework of the UPC will affect even the already granted EP patents. This webinar will discuss the effects of the UPC coming into force, as well as the options and decisions that the applicants and proprietors need to consider and implement.

In this virtual webinar, a panel of practitioners will discuss the recent trends and significant challenges surrounding the implementation of the Unitary Patent and Unified Patent Court. One of the speakers will be Malgorzata (“Gosia”) Kulczycka from Hickman Becker Bingham Ledesma LLP.

Malgorzata A. Kulczycka

Ms. Kulczycka is a partner at Hickman Becker Bingham Ledesma LLP. Her practice focuses on client counseling and strategic patent prosecution in the areas of computer networks, AI, machine learning, Internet-related technologies, computer software, telecommunications, computer graphics, and electronics. Her computer network and software experiences include virtual machines, communications servers and routers, load balancing, artificial intelligence, high availability network mechanisms, VPN, dynamic DNS-based security systems, real-time distributed data compliance brokers, and cloud-based storage systems. Ms. Kulczycka has published many articles and presented several webinars on a variety of IP-related topics for the IP-community including the AIPLA organization, the ABA organization, software companies, and startups.
